My friend is an airline pilot. He was startled by the launch of the MUOS-2 satellite this morning. #space http://t.co/VzR6AEkXKF

You would think that the launching of a rocket into space would be something airline pilots in the area may have been warned about but apparently not. According to @spacefuture‘s tweet, his friend, the pilot who snapped the photo, was startled at the sight of the rocket breaking through the cloud cover. I can’t say that I blame him. Luckily he wasn’t too startled to pull out his camera and capture this wonderful photograph.
The US navy’s mobile user objective system (MUOS-2) satellite is launched into orbit on Friday from the Cape Canaveral Air Force base in Florida. The MUOS-2 satellite is designed to provide members of the US armed forces with narrowband – 64 kbit/s and below – communications capabilities
Great Picture!
