Considering the current climate in Russia right now towards the LGBT community this took a level of bravery that’s hard to imagine. When asked why he did it, why he came out like that, Krasovsky simply replied, “because somebody should do it. Somebody should do it. I decided it’s time to get open. It’s time to get open for me, that’s it.”
Russia has tried hard to delete any evidence of his coming out on air and keep it off the internet. Krasovsky has taken up the banner and is making sure that as many people as possible hear his story.
Also, in case you’re wondering what he was trying to say at the end it was, “I’m not sure if the Putin regime is fascist.” His English wasn’t that bad but apparently the word “fascist” is a difficult translation.
