Today is Reddit user KeatingOrRoark’s last day as a marine and, as he was thanking the other guys in his platoon for their support after 9/20/2011, the day ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ was officially repealed, his fellow jarheads surprised him with this pride flag with the USMC logo on it.
“You should have heard the grumbling within the Corps in the lead up to repeal. The overwhelming opinion was ‘OMG, who the hell cares?’ much more than any other sentiment,” said KeatingOrRoark.
Further proof that the people with hangups about who can and can’t serve in the military are probably people who have never served in the military and experienced that sort of bond. Guaranteed you will be seeing this somewhere on MSM by Monday morning.
